1884: Par la bulle "Humanum Genus", le pape Léon
XIII aggrave les condamnations antérieures. Le
Saint-Office en précise le sens ce 10 Mai en
rappelant les normes de condamnation du canon 2335 du Codex
Juris Canonici: (...) Ceux qui adhèrent à une
secte maçonnique ou à toute autre association
semblable qui complote contre l'Eglise ou les pouvoirs
civils légitimes encourent de ce fait
l'excommunication réservée simplement au
Saint-Siège. 1884,
may the 10: by papal bull "Humanum Genus", Leon XIII
worsens anterior condemnations. The Holy See precises the
meaning on May 10 by reminding norms of condemnation by the
canon 2335 of the "Codex Juris Canonici": "...Those who
adhere to a masonic sect or to all other similar association
that plots against the Church or legitimate civil
authorities incur thereby the simply reserved
excommunication to the Holy See." 18

PIE X condamnant "la séparation de l'Eglise et de
l'Etat". Dans une allocution au consistoire des cardinaux
PIE X déclare: "Nous condamnons la loi... comme
offensante à Dieu, néfaste à la
constitution divine de l'Eglise, contraire à notre
autorité...". 1906,
february the 18: First Encyclical of pope PIUS X
condemning "the separation of the Church and the State" in
France. In a speech to the cardinals' consistory, PIUS X
declares: "We condemn the low... as offending to God,
ominous to the divine constitution of the Church, contrary
to our autority..." !
